The overall health of your chromatography column is key to providing proper protein separation in yourdownstream purification operations.  While salt spike injections can provide some statistical parameters like HETP and Asymmetry values, determining these values sometimes comes at a price - additional cleaning, increased cycle times, decreased throughtput.

And how are you computing your statistical parameters?  Believe it or not, some folks still print out a time-based trace of their analyzer signal, eyeball a peak and measure things with a ruler.

How about timeliness?  There's real-time, near real-time, and offline.  And if you're printing off a trend or exporting time-based data to Excel and sneaker-netting it over to another system, that's not real-time.

 Transitional Analysis is based on evaluating the analyzer curve produced by transitioning from one buffer to another.  Since this kind of transition occurs during normal column sequencing, no additional processing steps or lost production is encountered.
